Ever since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, and with all the repeated quarantine periods, many companies have been forced to implement a practice that has become increasingly popular: remote working.

We will address this issue in this article, highlighting the most effective work management tools to help you boost your brand´s productivity in these times where technology is gaining more and more terrain.

Nowadays, every work team is integrated by people who live in different parts of the world. In addition to that, more and more companies are hiring freelance professionals, as they add significant value to every project.

In response to this, we must also take advantage of the fact that today’s users can access the web more frequently, as they have more free time to look for offers and news about all the products and services they want; this is a unique opportunity that companies must take advantage of by focusing their efforts in strengthening their online presence and thereby increasing their sales.

In order to achieve this optimisation on the web and not falling into gaps or absenteeism, there are a number of work management tools that can make team communication and monitoring of tasks more easy. With this, even if the team is not physically together, they will be connected in pursuit of your company’s goals.

In this way, we can keep up to date or in tune with what people want, are looking for and need, which could well be the product or service we have.

A Range Of Options

Until a few years ago, the main collaborative tools were email and message services. But this has changed. Nowadays, new models of business and work hosted in the cloud have emerged. This is why new practices, tools and working methods inside and outside the business environment are required.

In order to achieve this, we will review some practical solutions that are truly effective and provide clear positive results:

SLACK

Slack is considered one of the best work management tools in the business environment. It has the ability to streamline communication between team members, reducing both the number of emails and face-to-face meetings.

This tool also allows us to organize and prioritize conversations, keep up to date with what is happening in a project, create thematic channels, share files, make calls, mute or activate notifications, among other multiple options and interesting functions.

Slack has a free version that allows you to store up to 10,000 messages, as well as integration with 10 other apps and with individual calls.

TRELLO

This is a work management app based on a dashboard, which is organized by columns that store information on pending tasks, separating them in three groups: to do today, in progress and completed.

In each column you will find a description of what is pending, what is being done or what has already been completed by each member of the team. This means that, with a little glance, you will be able to see what each team member is working on, and how the project´s flow is going.

Within each task, it is possible to organize sub-tasks as if it were a checklist; at the same time, you can cross off those that have been completed. Trello also incorporates a timer, which helps us to control the time that each person dedicates to the tasks, in order to really evaluate the team’s level of productivity. This is very useful when working with clients, as every second counts.

ASANA

This is another one of today’s mostly used work management tools. Asana can be implemented in order to manage large and small projects. It supports the planning and organization of the team’s daily tasks, while keeping track of their progress.

One of its strongest points is that it can be easily integrated with other work management apps, such as Jira, Dropbox, Slack, Gmail and Outlook.

With Asana you can attach files, set a date for every task´s delivery, get project reports, and have conversations with other team members. Its free version is available for teams of up to 15 people.

ONEDRIVE BUSINESS

This is one of the services that Microsoft offers for storing and backing up personal files online. It is also compatible with all the tools that companies use on a daily basis. Each company manages its own storage capacity, determining how much of it will be distributed among its employees.

SKYPE FOR BUSINESS

Makes communication and work easier for those who work in any geographical location that are not the physical office.

SharePoint online

This is another work management tool that allows you to create, store, organize and share files with collaborators, partners and clients.

TeamGantt

This tool is a modern project planning software. It gives companies the possibility to plan, schedule and even manage projects, in order to involve all team members in an easier and simpler way, using extremely simple functions in order to get the job done in the shortest possible time.

Basecamp

Basecamp is another work management tool that has gained popularity during the Covid-19 pandemic around the world. This tool allows the company to execute all of its tasks remotely, as it integrates everything they need in one place. This is ideal for scheduling and assigning executable tasks, and knowing what we are working on.

Advantages Of Using Work Management Tools

Undoubtedly, this method of working (whether it is in times of quarantine or in this times where remote work is gaining more ground) represents a factor that improves the productivity of companies.

It offers clients, suppliers, collaborators and employees a direct, immediate and efficient way of communicating; thanks to the fact that the teams are intercommunicated in real time, the resolution of projects and doubts at the ideal moment becomes easier. Among its many advantages, the following stand out:

  1. The members or collaborators of a company have faster and easier access to the information stored in the cloud.

  1. Collaborative tools help saving time and using it in a more efficient way, as they allow all the apps to be available in the same place.
